About JBR Recovery Ltd
JBR Recovery Ltd. is one of the best companies in the world at refining silver that has been responsibly recycled from various secondary and waste resources. The company is located in West Bromwich, UK and has been operating since 1977, originally under the name John Betts Refiners.
The company’s main goal is to reuse and recycle valuable metals like silver, gold, platinum, and palladium from things like used film and paper, old electronics, silver catalysts, and many other things. The process for recovering precious metals includes pyrometallurgical melting and chemical processes, creating sliver-bearing ash mixed and cooked to create an alloy of around 50% silver. With more refining, the purity becomes 99.9% silver which is then melted and molded into bars.
JBR’s factory produces more than 250 tons of high-quality silver every year.
Features of the 1 kilo JBR Silver Bar
You’ll find the weight and purity on the front of the bar. It has the JBR logo, an oval made up of two concentric circles, with the purity of the bar in the middle and the name JBR around it. You’ll find “JBR RECOVERY LTD. 999. 1 kg FINE SILVER 999” here. It also includes a unique serial number.
On the back of the bar, there are no markings aside from marks and lines made when molten silver was poured into molds.
Each bar is tested to ensure it has 99.9% or more fine silver and weighs 1 kilogram.
Today’s cast silver bars were made to be picked up and stacked; as such, they don’t have any of the designs you might see on coins or rounds.
