Capturing The Attention of Modern-Day Investors

The Royal Canadian Mint 1 oz 99.95% pure Platinum Maple Leaf bullion coin is a unique addition to your portfolio. The Government of Canada guarantees that this coin is the right size, weight, and quality, and there are many different years to choose from, with the first coin released in 1988.

About Buying From the Royal Canadian Mint

The Royal Canadian Mint is regarded as one of the most reliable mints in the world. The Royal Mint’s Ottawa branch opened in 1908, and it was renamed after the Canadian government took over ownership in 1931.

The Royal Canadian Mint is known for producing some of the best and purest gold and silver bullion coins and bars in the world. Because of their high quality and excellence standards, they were the first refinery to produce 9999 fine gold bullion coins in 1982 and the first to achieve 99999 fine gold purity in 1999.

The Mint started producing Canadian Maple Leaf coins in 1988, with the first platinum coin hitting the market the same year. This makes it one of the longest-running platinum coins available in the world. It was sold until 2002 in five denominations, with production ceasing at the time. It was then partially revived in 2009 as 1 troy ounce. The coins have legal tender status in Canada; however, the face value is less than the market price.

Features of the 1 oz Maple Leaf Platinum Coin

On the back of all 1 oz Canadian Platinum Maple Leaf coins is a sugar maple leaf design. There are engravings on this side that state where the coin was made, how pure it is, how much metal it contains, and how much it weighs.

The front of your Canadian Platinum Maple Leaf will feature one of three possible portraits of Queen Elizabeth II, depending on the year. The Queen is depicted as a 39-year-old woman on the 1988-1989 coins. Third-generation Dora de Pedery Hunt’s portrait of the Queen appears on Platinum Maple Leaf coins issued between 1990 and 2002, depicting the Queen at the age of 64. And since 2009, Platinum Maple Leaf coins have had a fourth-generation image created by Susanna Blunt in 2003, with Her Majesty as a 79-year-old woman.

This side of the coin will also have the year of issue and the legal tender value, all set against radial lines that are micro-engraved.

As an added security feature, all 1 oz bullion coins with dates after 2016 will have radial lines and a micro-engraved maple leaf.

When the coins came out in 1988, RCM offered at least four different weights, including 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz. By 1993, a 1/20 oz weight had been added. The mint also made a 1/15 oz coin, but only in 1994.

Canadian Platinum Maple Leaf coins are a classic gift, a smart investment, and a sign of true national pride. These 1 oz Maple Leaf Platinum coins are distributed in uncirculated condition, so shop now and add to your investment portfolio. If you have any questions, please contact our team.
