About SilverTowne Mint
SilverTowne began as a small coin shop in 1949 in a rural part of Indiana – it wasn’t until the early 1970s that the company started making its own coins. Since then, it has grown to become one of the country’s largest and most trusted dealers of silver, gold, and numismatics.
Today, SilverTowne is just one of many private mints in the United States, with their main office in Winchester, IN. SilverTowne’s silver bullion products have a reputation for being the best on the market. They are great value, high quality and renowned around the world.
SilverTowne also provides expert assay services in addition to its precious metals minting operations, so anyone can send gold and silver to the facility to be tested for purity.
Features of the 1 oz Buffalo SilverTowne Silver Bar
This 1 Troy-ounce silver bar is a replica of the Buffalo Nickel, a historic piece of American coinage in its own right. Taking inspiration from that design – which features the encircled head of an Indigenous American, with “Liberty” imprinted at 2 o’clock inside the circle. The obverse face also features the weight and metal purity stamped in capital letters.
The reverse face of the 1 oz Silver Bar features an encircled Black Diamond – a 150lb buffalo, with “E. Pluribus Unum.” imprinted at 2 o’clock. The rest of the reverse face features a series of intersecting lines. “E. Pluribus Unum” is Latin for: “Out of many, One.”, the traditional motto of the United States features on national iconography, including the Great Seal, kept by the Secretary of State. This special coin was originally struck in the early 20th century, following the design of James Earle Fraser in 1913. Another inscription on this face reads: “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”.
While no securitisation exists for this bar, you can tell if yours is genuine by striking intersecting lines on the reverse face.
This bar packs quite the punch at 1 Troy ounces, so be sure to handle it carefully. This bar is a great first or second investment piece for anyone just entering the precious metals market or anyone wanting to expand their collection.
