On the back is the design by Celia Godkins of a sugar maple leaf. The maple leaves in this picture have grown together from the bottom of their stems. The background of each of these coins is made up of radial lines, and the back has a tiny laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark.
The coin’s diameter of 76.25 millimeters is unusually large, and the A 10 oz coin has a face value of CAD$50, the highest denomination of silver bullion available. Precision radial lines and a laser-engraved maple leaf in the coin field are two unique security features.
